Home Stager’s Go-Tos

Every home stager has their go-to’s for a successful stage day. Kathryn and I have thought it through and narrowed down our top must haves for install days. These items help us stay organized and motivated while we work to make a home look its very best.

Joggers

We are big time jogger wearers. The particular ones we wear are from Target and are low cost, long lasting and practical. They’ve got side cargo pockets with zippers - great for popping some nails into as we hang art. And a ton of other pockets to hold our phones, keys, debris we gather throughout the house and anything else that ends up in there by the end of the day. They are loose fitting, so we can easily be rearranging furniture or bending down without feeling constricted, all the while looking professional enough if a client or potential home-buyer pops by. Total win going on 5+ years now.

Cheez-Its

Our fuel to get through the day. We do aim to never skip lunch but in case things get shifted or delayed, we gotta have some Cheez-Its handy. At this point, it’s become our calling card. If someone doesn’t see a Cheez-It box near us while staging, then something may be wrong.

Cleaning Supplies & Tool Kits

We’ve got a cleaning supply kit filled with all sorts of items we need on a stage day. At some point, we separated this from our tool bag and that has been very helpful. Our cleaning bag is stocked with items like toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, tape, velcro ties, rug stickers, a steamer and many other useful necessities. While our tool bag has the tools needed to hang art and mirrors, repair furniture, etc. We purchased these garden tool bags to store the supplies and they have worked out well with their many pockets and compartments.

Bluetooth Speaker

We love to keep music playing through the stage day. We’ve got a UE Boom speaker that we rely on time and again. It’s got a long battery life and has good sound quality, with a decent bass to it, which I like. The choice of music depends on the mood but the speaker certainly has come in handy all these years.

Business Cards Home Staging

Business Cards

Kathryn designed these cute cards we leave displayed at the homes we stage. A simple way to leave our mark for realtors and homeowners to know who staged the home and a way for them to get in touch with us. It’s a simple marketing tactic but important to us to provide a subtle and cute way to share who staged the property!

We’ve got plenty of other go-to’s to share, like what’s in our cleaning supply kit, coming soon!

Thanks for reading!
