Five Decor Favorites

It’s important to us that each stage feels unique and customized to the home we’re staging, but if you pay attention you’ll definitely notice some repeat offenders when it comes to our decor. We have a few tried and true favorites that we just can’t get enough of because they work well in a variety of spaces, and can be styled so many ways.

First up is our go to soap dispenser. We typically wait for these to go on sale and then stock up! The minimal design is perfect to pair with a bud vase or small plant, and they always complement the sinks of the home well. Also while you’re at it - go ahead and explore the entire H&M Home section, they’ve got some great pieces and a lot of it goes on sale pretty regularly. If you’re looking to level up your bathroom vibes at home, we can’t recommend these enough.

Next up are these faux stems from Amazon. They come in a variety of lengths, but the wire inside allows them to be so bendable you can easily fold up the bottom portion and tuck it into your vase for a short look without cutting them. We love to do fresh greens or florals when we can, but it’s not always realistic given how long some stages are active, how often the water / greens need to be refreshed, etc. We’re always on the hunt for faux stems that look at least somewhat realistic, and these have proved to be a pretty solid option. Here’s a few of the ways we’ve styled them so far!

This next one was a bit of a splurge for us at the time, but we love using this Crate & Barrel throw blanket any chance we get. Not only is it crazy soft, but the black and white color block pattern is so cute, and it looks good draped on just about anything. We bought this for our first ever stage a few years back, and he’s been a favorite of ours ever since. As two girls who regularly sift through every throw blanket HomeGoods has to offer, trust us when we say we’ve yet to find a black throw that rivals this one.

Next up are these square frames from Target. These are so in demand they’re almost always out of stock, but we’re signed up to be notified any time they come back in stock (if that gives you any clue as to how obsessed we are with these). They’re the perfect size to be hung alone or as a duo, and they’re great for layering when paired with another larger piece when we need to lean the art. If I had to guess I’d say we own at least 6 of these, if not more. Check out a few of the ways we’ve styled these in our stages:

Our last pick for this round up would have to be these World Market checkered kitchen rugs. Sometimes the area behind the kitchen island can feel a bit out of sight, out of mind depending how the kitchen is laid out. These little rugs are a fun and easy way to spruce up that part of the space. They come in two different colors - green and terracotta, although I will say the green is more of a taupe/gray. We’ve purchased both colors before and have found they work really well in both kitchens and bathrooms. We actually used one at the Markham East model home we furnished! Click here to read more about that project.

Let us know if you end up purchasing any of these for your own home or staging business. We’d love to see how you end up styling them. And if you have any go to decor recommendations of your own, send them our way!
