Staging a Model Home: Markham East

With the busy growth of Nashville, we find ourselves staging new construction homes quite a bit. Most of the color schemes in a new construction home are neutral whites with black finishes throughout. So we were excited when we stopped by the Markham East development, built by Legacy South, to see they were having some fun with pops of color.

The greens, oranges and yellows were bold pops, so our job was to bring this look together with the furniture and accessories we chose. All the while, making a space that felt functional, cohesive and a place a potential buyer would connect with.

In our experience, we’ve found the best way to highlight a bold color choice that may seem a bit loud, is to make it feel like it belongs by adding a few other complimentary colors that bring the whole look together. So we brought in a few more intentional pops of yellow, burnt orange, and some blue with the decorations.

While we played with adding some pops of color in the decorations, we kept the furniture nice and neutral. This allowed some space for the room to breathe in between all the color. The other levels of the home were a bit more neutral in color, so we continued the subtle color pops in decor throughout the bedrooms too.

The new development is located in a growing part of town, close to airport and makes for a great short term rental as well. This was important for us to keep in mind throughout our process, thinking through how this colorful stage will appeal to a potential buyer. The development is now for sale, reach out to Legacy South for more information!
