Get To Know Kathryn
Today, I thought it would be fun to have a little get to know you sesh with my favorite person and business partner in crime, Kathryn. She lights up my day everyday, bringing her clever wit and genius ideas to make our business thrive. She has this ability to be thinking ahead and mastering efficiency all the while allowing her creativity to shine in designing a space that gets us amped up. I am thankful to get to know her and thought it’d be fun to share some bits for those that don’t.
Q: Do you have any nicknames?
A: Yes! Most of my friends call me Kat, and my family calls me KT.
Q: Where can we find you on the weekends?
A: At estate sales, hitting some antique stores, going for walks, trying out a new bar or restaurant with friends, watching movies or having a game night!
Q: What’s your go to playlist for stage day?
A: Definitely depends on the mood, but Matt Corby is always a favorite, or some yacht rock/70’s mix if we need a good bop to get us moving.
Q: Got a favorite restaurant in town (Nashville)?
A: I’m definitely a creature of habit when it comes to dining out, I’ll never say no to Dicey’s, Mas Tacos, Grillshack, Burger Up, Folk, or some takeout from Siam Cafe. (Bonus points if the dinner is followed up by a drink at Wilburn Street Tavern.)
Q: What is your top dream place to travel to?
A: Portugal and Japan are two places I think would be so fun to travel to. My grandpa on my dad’s side is Portuguese, so I’ve always wanted to experience that culture. And who wouldn’t want to go to Japan!
Q: What is your favorite staging decor go-to item?
A: I’m always a fan of incorporating decorative trays and boxes. I think layering is key when you’re trying to make a space feel full. Also I will take any chance I can get to incorporate some vintage glassware.
Q: What do you love most about your job?
A: I love that every day is something different, and I truly feel like I get to use all of my skill sets in some way. My creativity, my somewhat debilitating need to be efficient at all times, my marketing/business background - it all comes in handy. And also 10/10 would recommend working with your best friend!
Q: What is one piece of advice or tip you’d give to someone interested in becoming a home stager?
A: Don’t be afraid to just get started! When I first got hired as a home stager I had no experience staging. I came from a graphic design background with an interest in interior design and thought staging would be fun try. Put yourself out there, and see what happens.
Thanks for sharing, Kathryn. We love you!
